OUR APPROACH:

FEARLESS TRAINING FOR

BUILDING CONFIDENT DOGS.

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Positive reinforcement dog training is a humane, science-based method proven to be the most effective in establishing long-lasting results. This fear-free and force-free training approach focuses on rewarding desired behaviors, increasing the likelihood of these behaviors occurring independently. During socialization, these techniques also help establish lasting positive associations with new environments, people, and pets.

Unlike outdated methods that rely on physical punishment or aversive tools such as prong collars and e-collars, positive reinforcement training prioritizes your dog's well-being. Studies reveal that aversive training techniques can cause extreme stress, harming both your dog’s mental and physical health.

With positive reinforcement, you’ll develop a strong bond with your dog built on trust and mutual understanding. Whether you’re tackling basic obedience, behavior modification, or socialization, this proven method sets you up for long-term success, while you enjoy a fun and stress-free training experience!

OWNER & HEAD TRAINER

My story: While fostering rescues I took in many “problem dogs” to help train and prepare for their new homes. My interest in professional dog training grew after I took in a foster that was found as a stray and ended up having extreme aggression and behavioral issues. Underneath his aggressive display, I could see a scared sweet boy who was struggling. After consulting many trainers and a veterinary behaviorist, I learned that positive reinforcement training was the most effective. We began a training journey together, and he made me realize that training is a way of life, not just obedience commands. I gained his trust and we grew so much together, that I decided to adopt him. He now has a safe place to call home and a very loving family.

Professional experience & education: Positive reinforcement training is a scientific approach that uses the psychology of animal behavior, which was a large part of my undergraduate studies. I conducted research in a Behavioral Analysis lab studying schedules of reinforcement and decision-making, which directly translates to dog training methods. In addition to my Psychology degree, I studied with CATCH Canine Trainers Academy and apprenticed with a local positive reinforcement trainer. I became a professional dog trainer to help people struggling with their dog’s behavior. Having firsthand experience of how emotionally draining it is to own a dog with behavioral issues, my mission is to help others overcome this hurdle. I encourage everyone to start training and socialization as soon as they get their dog to set them up for success in life!

How I can help: With my extensive background in Psychology and animal behavior, I will teach you about the underlying causes of your dog’s behavior and how to appropriately and humanely address them. I will provide you with training techniques and the knowledge you need to continue to learn and grow with your dog. I specialize in behavior modification, aggression, fear and anxiety, confidence building, puppy training, and basic obedience. Enroll in training today and live a less stressful life with a happy, well-trained canine companion!

I am a UNCW graduate (2017) with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience. After graduating, I volunteered for a local dog rescue, fostering over 70 dogs and puppies over five years. Along with fostering, I served on the board of directors as the Medical Coordinator of the rescue. I have extensive years of experience working with dogs in different environments. Before professionally training, I managed a high-volume dog boarding and daycare facility for two years, performing temperament tests and overseeing the safety of all dogs. I love getting to know every client and their dogs! Each year I train hundreds of dogs and owners to become more confident and build a happy, healthy bond with each other.
